Critiques

Skating critiques help identify areas of strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to focus your training efforts effectively. Additionally, critiques offer guidance on refining your jumps, spins, footwork, and artistic expression, elevating the quality of your performances.

Critiques are a type of feedback aimed at improving a skated performance or element, provided from an official's perspective, and are meant as an opportunity for improvement – never criticism. While receiving constructive criticism may be difficult, it's important to approach critiques with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Embracing feedback can help skaters go beyond their comfort zones, strive for excellence, and unleash their full potential on the ice.

Skaters of all levels are encouraged to participate in our critiques to showcase their skills, programs, and moves. We suggest wearing full dress to prepare for upcoming competitions. Our panel will provide immediate feedback, ensuring that you receive valuable insights to help you improve.

Even if you're not competing, you're welcome to come skate and receive program critiques from our panel. Critiques are open to skaters of all levels and from all rinks.

FSCSM periodically hosts or co-hosts critique sessions. Upcoming critiques will be announced via email and our website.
